Guide to Buying Pot Seeds
Buying marijuana seeds online can be a little scary, so I am here to put you at ease with the process. If you follow these few simple tips, you will have no problems buying your pot seed online through one of our trusted seed partners.
What to look for in a pot seed
- Height - How tall will the plant grow? Obviously it has to be able to fit within your grow space, unless you use a special method called "Sea of Green," your plants should fit easily within your grow space.
- Yield - How much will each plant produce? If you have a quota, then it's important to know how many plants you'll need to grow. If not, then grow as much or as little as you want.
- Grow cycle - Most marijuana seeds have very similar grow cycles, however, some can be much shorter or longer than others depending on the strain. Some strains are even specially created for shorter grow cycles such as "auto-flowering" or "lowryder" stains. Knowing the length of the life cycle will be important for your lighting timing.
- Potency - THC content can be a very important factor for some people, but don't judge a strain just by it's THC level, there are many other factors such as taste or buzz quality that you should consider as well. Some strains leave you happy and feeling light, while other will leave you so chill that you can't get off the couch for 5 hours. Strains with a potency of 12% or higher will easily be some of the best marijuana you have ever smoked.
Take your time and explore your options, pot seed choice is an important step in the process. Since you will likely be cloning or reseeding this plant many times, you should find a strain that you will enjoy for a long while.
How to buy from Trustworthy Seedbanks
It is usually more important to find a good seed bank, and use their selection than to try to find some holy grail pot seed that may come from a less trustworty source. I know this may mean giving up your dream of growing every cannabis cup winner, but it is better to be safe than sorry. Take your time to look over the seedbank's website - a good business website will be able to answer your questions and put you at ease.
- Every seed shop has a FAQ or information on how they ship and how they accept payment. Read this thoroughly, it will also indicate which countries they won't ship to, and how the package will be shipped.
- Always order small your first time. One order of 10-20 seeds will be more than enough for a grow, and this will also give you a chance to test out the seed company. Once they have proven themselves with a successful delivery, then you can try ordering a bit more from them.
- Don't order too much all at once. A good way to get your package confiscated is by having a large number of seeds. I find it is best to order 10-20 seeds of a strain at a time with multiple orders than one big order. Smaller bundles are more likely to slip past notice. A big bag of seeds screams "investigate me."
What will happen if customs finds my package?
This website does not condone ordering seeds in any country that it is illegal, however if someone were to order seeds online and customs found them, your seeds will be confiscated and that's about it. You might recieve a letter letting you know that the package was taken, but they won't go any further than that - not as long as you aren't trying to buy hundreds of seeds anyway.
