Chapter Eight
How to Regenerate Your Mothers
At the end of a growing cycle [8-12 weeks] or the period of time from the beginning of the foliage growth stage through flowering and then harvest, it is easy to return the mature plants to the foliage growth stage and begin the process all over again.
By regenerating your recently harvested plants, you get to reharvest much faster than going back to germinating seeds. You are insured of ONLY females and the genetics of the plants will be identical.
Some growers have experienced hermaphroditic growth in regeneration attributed to some stress related factors. A hermaphrodite is a plant with both male and female floral organs which enable the plant to fertilize its own seed….AND all the other females in the room!!!
So far I have never seen any generation of Mother plants morph to a different sex even 3 or 4 generations later. The only unplanned appearance of male p[ants was a result of not diligently removing the males grown from seed and thus pollination occurred.
By regenerating established high yield Mothers, you shorten the cycle by several weeks and insure they will continue to be
females. A regenerated plant is the most excellent source to clone from as you have a well established genetic strain.
